Other Than Life

rehearse & rehearse

Tedd Firth and I met a couple of times during the summer to work out charts for the Ray Charles show, getting them ready for the Boston performance.  But now we’re getting ready for New York, and that’s a whole different level of “ready.”

I had imagined I’d be more tense about these New York-centric rehearsals, but the opposite seems to be true.  Tedd and I had a great two hours Tuesday, easily the most creative rehearsal I’ve had in a while.  And tomorrow we add my wonderful bass player, Adam Armstrong.

It’s an eclectic mix of music - so eclectic that at first Tedd thought I’d taken leave of my senses - and it’s turning out to be lots of fun to play, and to sing.  I can’t wait to see what the Metropolitan Room audience has to say about it.

Meanwhile, I’ve been out promoting the show, previewing various numbers around town.  Check out these kind words about my performance at Salon last Sunday.
